Board Policies

Adoption Date: Oct 22, 1997

The Board recognizes that the early preparation of a calendar for the instructional program of the schools is necessary for orderly educational planning and for the efficient operation of the Corporation.

The total number of days when the school will be in session for instructional purposes shall be in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. For purposes of receiving State school funding, such days will number no fewer than required by Indiana statute.

All days lost due to snow, fire, epidemics, health conditions, etc. cannot be counted as a part of the minimum days of instruction for State funding and must be made up unless a waiver is obtained from the State Department of Education.

The Superintendent shall submit to the State Department of Education the total number of actual instructional days no later than the required date to each year.
