8600AG2 - SPECIAL NEEDS TRANSPORTATION STUDENT PM DROP-OFF PROTOCOL

In order to insure the safety, and adherence to state statute, the following protocol shall be used when dropping off Special Needs Students.

 

1)      The student shall be delivered to the main address as listed in PowerSchool.

2)      If there is not a guardian present to accept the child at this address, the child shall be delivered to the second address listed in PowerSchool (if there is one listed – if not proceed to step 3).

3)      If there is not a guardian present to accept the child at this address, the driver shall radio the bus barn and notify them of the situation.  The bus barn shall call all available numbers in PowerSchool to reach the listed guardian.  If the guardian is reached, they shall be notified of the situation and agree to accept the child at an address listed in PowerSchool.

4)      If no contact is made with the guardian, the bus barn shall notify the bus driver, and the driver shall deliver the child back to their school building.  The Bus Barn shall contact the Principal via the Principal’s school supplied cell phone.

5)      The driver shall notify the bus barn of the action.  The bus barn shall notify Special Services of the action.  Special Services shall notify CPS.
