Board Policies
The Superintendent shall strive to achieve Corporation goals by providing educational direction and supervision to the professional staff and supervision to the support staff and by acting as a proper model for staff and students both in and outside the Corporation.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Superintendent is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Corporation and shall be directly responsible to the Board for the performance of the following assigned duties and responsibilities:
A. Serve as Chief Administrative Officer of the Corporation which involves directing the overall operation of the Corporation in accordance with policies approved by said Board.
B. Ensure that the educational programs are meeting stated goals and standards. Evaluates programs to provide for upgrading and improvement to meet changing conditions.
C. Recommend the annual budget for corporation operation in accordance with regulations established by the State and the Board.
D. Establish and implement a program of assessment which measures the job performance of the professional staff and the learning outcomes of the corporation’s students.
E. Advise, consult, and recommend to the Board on matters pertaining to contractual relationships with corporation employees.
F. Responsible for the operation and administration of personnel services for the corporation.
G. Serve as officer of the Board in establishing and implementing procedures which result in effective channels of communication with employees and residents of the Corporation.
H. Represent the Corporation to the public. Participate and cooperate with school sponsored groups, governmental agencies, community organizations, and other public functions to promote and support the corporation’s goals.
I. Stay current professionally in the field of educational administration and assume responsibility for the strategic planning of changes in the operational procedure of the corporation based on reliable school research data.
J. Exhibit personal and professional characteristics which enhance the position of the Superintendent as an accepted leader of the community.
K. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Board.
