4111 - CREATING A POSITION

The Board recognizes the need to establish positions which, when filled by competent qualified support staff, will assist the Corporation in achieving the education goals set by the Board.  The Corporation employs only U.S. Citizens and others lawfully authorized to work in the United States.

The Board reserves the right to fix the compensation including salary and fringe benefits for all employees.  The Superintendent shall prescribe the duties to be performed by all support staff, to recommend new positions and specify the number of persons within each job category.  When recommending new positions, the Board directs the Superintendent to give primary consideration to:

A. the number of students enrolled;

B. the special needs of the Corporation;

C. the special needs of the students;

D. the operational services of the Corporation;

The Board shall, upon the advice of the Superintendent, consider the advisability of creating a new support position or of increasing the number of support staff in an existing position.

The Superintendent shall verify all new employees’ and substitutes right to work in the United States according to the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
