Board Policies

Adoption Date: Dec 27, 1993

It is the objective of the Board to provide equal educational opportunities for all students within the Corporation.  Therefore, it is the intent of the Board to study Federal legislation to enhance educational opportunities, the educations environment, and better physical and mental growth for each student.

The Board recognizes the restrictions of the Corporation’s basic economic resources and accepts the need to secure funds through the various means available from State and Federal resources.  The administration is directed to develop projects and proposals for assistance which offer opportunities for students in this Corporation to benefit from improved and enriched educational programs.  Such projects and proposals must be consistent with the educational objectives of the Corporation and should reflect fundamental programs which cannot be developed within the limitations of the regular fiscal mechanisms.

If necessary, specialized personnel may be employed to aid such proposal development, subject to approval of the Board.

The Board regards available Federal funds of aid to local school corporations and communities as a public trust.  It forbids the use of Federal monies for partisan political activities and for any use that would not be in accord with Federal guidelines on discrimination.  The Superintendent shall ensure that each draw of Federal monies is as close as administratively feasible to the related program expenditures.
