MCS Board seeks applicants for Marion Public Library Board appointment

News Blog Category - News Marion Community Schools Board of School Trustees invites letters of interest from individuals to serve on the Marion Public Library Board of Trustees. The appointment is from Jan. 1, 2018, to Dec. 31, 2021.

Eligibility requirements:
  • Reside in the city of Marion.
  • Reside in city of Marion for at least two years immediately preceding the appointment to the Library Board.
  • Attend meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Marion Public Library. (Members serve without pay.)

Application process:
  • Submit a letter of interest and resume to:

Get your MCS holiday cards! Orders due 11/21

News Blog Category - News It's that time of year again: The Marion Community Schools annual holiday cards are now available to order!

The artwork featured on the two cards was created by Marion Community Schools students, and the cards themselves will be printed by Marion Regional Career Center's print shop.

If your family, organization, or business is looking for a holiday card with a local flair — and a local impact — make sure you take advantage of this opportunity to get your order in for these special cards! 

Each set of 20 cards and envelopes is $6.25. Proceeds from the sale of these cards go to help MCS students in need. We hope you'll consider purchasing. It's an easy way to brighten someone's day and make a real difference in our community!

Orders are due by Tuesday, Nov. 21. Please return your completed order form, along with check or cash, to Patricia Gibson or April Gambrel in the district office at Marion High School, 750 W. 26th St. Our office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Those who order will be notified when cards are available for pickup in early December.

Schools throughout the district have holiday programs planned. In addition, there are several community events we think our MCS families may be interested in. Since schedules are so busy this time of year, we want to share plans early! (We will continue to add more links as information becomes available.)
