9210 - PARENT/COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

The Board supports organizations whose objectives are to support and promote the mission and goals of the Corporation. However, in using the name of the Corporation and its schools in organizing a group whose identity derives from a school(s) of this Corporation, the organization thereby shares responsibility with this Board for the welfare of participating students.

Any organization desiring to use the name or good offices of the Corporation must obtain the approval of the Board as its prerequisite to organizing.

Representatives and members of approved school related organizations are expected to function as interested friends of the schools and supporters of public education in the Corporation.

Staff members may participate in the activities of such organization(s).

The Board will not tolerate any undue pressure, harassment, or intimidation designed to coerce anyone into membership in any organization.

The Board relies upon approved organizations to operate in a manner consistent with public expectations for the schools and reserves the right to withdraw sponsorship of organizations which no longer support or promote the mission and goals of Corporation.
