3161 - LEAVES

A leave of absence without pay may be granted to a tenure teacher for a period not to exceed one year because of physical disability or illness of the teacher, serious illness in the teacher’s immediate family, or for travel.  Teachers may make application for a year’s leave of absence without pay.  If the administration and the Board approved, leaves will be granted with assurance of re-employment.

Membership in health, hospitalization and major medical group insurance plans may be continued by the teacher personally prepaying the total premium for the year’s leave of absence to the Business Office.
