Marion High School celebrated the Class of 2020 in high style with virtual celebrations in the spring, but unfortunately we were not able to have an in-person celebration.
As part of Homecoming Weekend, we will honor our Class of 2020 graduates with a brief graduation ceremony at 5:15 p.m. Sept. 18 at Dick Lootens Stadium, prior to the football game.
Any member of the Class of 2020 who wishes to participate should arrive at 4:30 p.m., dressed in their cap and gown. Graduates will line up at the south end of the track, and when their name is called they will proceed to the middle of the field to accept their diploma.
There will be a brief introduction by Principal Burke and Superintendent Lindsay, but there will be no student speeches.
Friends and family will be allowed to watch from the stands, following the relevant guidelines for spectators in our athletic facilities, including social distancing and mask requirements.
Class of 2020 graduates will be admitted to the Homecoming game free. Any friends and family who want to stay for the game will need to purchase a ticket. The game starts at 7 p.m.
