With the school year nearing its end, Marion Community Schools has several opportunities for families and friends to come out and support our young artists and musicians.

The end-of-the-year shows will look a bit different with COVID precautions in place. All spectators are required to wear masks and maintain social distancing.

The Marion Community Schools Art Show, which every year features art made by Marion Community Schools students of all ages, is set for 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 14 & 15 in the lobby of the Walton Performing Arts Center at Marion High School, 750 W. 26th St. There will not be interactive art activities this year, due to COVID precautions. All K-4 art will be projected as digital galleries, along with some of the 5-12 art. Select physical art pieces from grades 5-12 will be on display as well.

There will be musical performances during the Art Show on Saturday as well, all in the Walton Center auditorium:

Marion Community Schools’ art programs have consistently offered students outstanding opportunities, and in the last few years several students have had their works chosen for regional, state, and even national competitions, including the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s Symphony in Color awards and the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Our art programs culminate with a wide array of courses at Marion High School, including drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, photography, and more, along with a pre-professional option, the CSA Arts Academy.
