Free athletic physicals for MCS students (7/22)

In light of COVID-19, the IHSAA has modified the physical exam requirement for participation in school athletics. All athletic physicals completed and submitted for the 2019-20 school year will continue to be valid for the 2020-21 school year.

Specific details of school athletics are still being discussed and planned for, in line with guidance from local, state, and national health officials. Once athletics resume, we know there will be some students who don't have an athletic physical on file, even with the extension allowed this year by IHSAA.

At this time, Marion Community Schools is scheduled to host a night of free sports physicals on July 22, 2020, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Bill Green Athletic Arena for any student still needing a physical. There is no set end time for this event, we will go as long as needed, but please come as early as you can. This would include: any 8th grader moving to 9th grade and any student at a Marion Community School wanting to participate in sports without a current sports physical on file.

Any further questions can be sent to Marion High School athletic trainer, Lexi Furnish at afurnish@marion.k12.in.us.
