Students at Grant Regional Career Center’s Aviation Academy will soon be able to take their training to new heights thanks to a grant from the Boren Foundation.
Grant Regional Career Center’s Aviation Academy instructor Mark Johnson wrote a grant request to the Boren Foundation to purchase a flight simulator for the program. Last week, Grant Regional Career Center learned that it had received that grant — $10,000 from the Boren Foundation.

The Marion High School Alumni Association is working in partnership and received the funds from the Boren Foundation and is passing them through to GRCC.
GRCC and Marion Community Schools is so thankful for support from our community. This gift will make an incredible impact on our students!
The Aviation Academy is a partnership between Marion Community Schools / Grant Regional Career Center, the City of Marion, the Marion Municipal Airport, and Indiana Wesleyan University. This two-year program is unique in our region, and has been recognized with an Indiana Department of Education Partnership Award.
It is an amazing opportunity for students in the area! It offers foundational knowledge and skills that can help students pursue a career in the field of aviation. In some classes, students can earn high school credit and college credit at the same time.
Any student interested in the Aviation Academy should talk with their school counselor about enrollment at GRCC. You can also call GRCC, 765-664-9091, with questions.
