Publish Date: 05/12/2022

On Saturday, May 14, the undefeated Marion Giants varsity Super Smash Brothers e-sports team will travel to South Bend to Bendix Arena, the largest commercial e-sports arena in the Midwest, to compete in the high school e-sports state championship.

Though attendance at the event is limited to players and coaches, there is a virtual way to cheer on the Marion Giants!

Matches and the award ceremony will be live streamed at the Indiana High School Esports Network's Twitch channel: twitch.tv/indianahsen. Each stream will have active chatrooms that players can see.

Because of our undefeated status, the Marion Giants' matches will also be streamed live on the ESPN E-Sports Network: espn.com/esports.

The schedule for the Giants' tournament bracket is as follows:

  • Match #1 Marion vs. Kankakee Valley High School, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., if Marion wins, we will advance to Match 2
  • Match #2 competitors TBD, 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The state championship awards ceremony will be at 7 p.m.
