The Community School of the Arts is excited to kick-off a new community event this Friday, Sept. 11, downtown. Chalk The Block is an event created to bring the community together to beautify the downtown square. Chalk will be distributed Friday evening, and will be available at downtown businesses for the month of September.

This will be a socially-distanced event, and masks are encouraged when coming within 6 feet of contact, creating a safe and fun, family-friendly opportunity to fill the sidewalks with original chalk art.

“We hope to see families and community members come together for Chalk the Block as CSA is excited to engage with the community and downtown businesses for a fun and safe night,” said Madison Reed, CSA’s Early Childhood and Community Outreach Coordinator, and creator of the event. “This is the time to ensure that we have community-building because of the isolation that we have all felt since the onset of COVID-19, and nothing is more powerful than creating art together.”
