MCS School Board seeks applicants for second seat being vacated

Marion Community Schools Board of School Trustees is now accepting applications for a vacant seat in District 4 (at-large).

Eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a registered voter
  • Must have resided in the school corporation for at least one (1) year.
  • May reside anywhere within the district, as this seat represents the full district (anyone can check their district at indianavoters.com)

Term:  Ends Dec. 31, 2022 

Application Process:

No later than Aug. 12, 2022, submit a letter of interest and resume or background information (including your address and contact information) by email to Mandy Spencer, recording clerk for the MCS School Board, mspencer@marion.k12.in.us. 

All applications will be reviewed by the Marion Community Schools Board of School Trustees.   

This vacancy was created by the resignation of board member Serafina Salamo, who has declared her candidacy in District 3 for the seat vacated by the resignation of Mary Prows.

NOTE: Anyone who wishes to run for this District 4 (at-large) seat for the term beginning Jan. 1, 2023, would need to file their candidacy through the regular elections process. The candidacy filing period opened on July 27 and runs through noon Aug. 26. Contact the County Clerk's Elections Office for more details on candidacy filing for the General Election.
