MCS School Board seeks applicants for vacant seat

Marion Community Schools Board of School Trustees is now accepting applications for a vacant seat in District 3.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a registered voter
  • Must have resided in the school corporation for at least one (1) year.
  • Reside within the Marion Community Schools Board of School Trustees District 3 (Center Township precincts 10,11, 15, 20, 24, and parts of Washington Township precincts 3 and 4; anyone can check their district at indianavoters.com)

Term:  Ends Dec. 31, 2020. (NOTE: This application and selection process will appoint someone to fill this position through that date. Anyone who wishes to run for the term that begins Jan. 1, 2021, — including the appointee named to fill the term ending Dec. 31, 2020 — must file their candidacy with the Grant County Clerk’s office between July 22 and noon Aug. 21 following the procedures outlined by Indiana Code.)
 
Application Process:

No later than July 21, 2020, submit a letter of interest and resume or background information (including your address and contact information) by email to Patty Barney, recording clerk for the MCS School Board, pbarney@marion.k12.in.us.
 
All applications will be reviewed by the Marion Community Schools Board of School Trustees.  
 
This vacancy was created by the resignation of board member Chuck Griffin. Marion Community Schools thanks Mr. Griffin for his four years of faithful service as a valuable school board member.
