MCS welcomes Bannister as HR Director

Marion Community Schools is pleased to welcome Robert Bannister as Director of Human Resources.

“I am excited to join a well-established team of thinkers and educators, along with the families and others who are committed to the education of our youth in Marion,” Bannister said. “I look forward to using my experience and expertise to help empower the staff, families, and students of Marion.”

Bannister has been a supervisor at Chrysler in Kokomo since 2016. Prior to that, he was a manager at the Walmart Distribution Center in Gas City for four years. He also has spent more than a decade in municipal government management in Chicago and in Lincoln Heights, Ohio. He also has experience in the transportation industry, including two years as CEO of ABF Bus, Inc.

He earned his bachelor’s degree and his master’s of public administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati.

He is excellent in developing positive and productive relationships with people, which will serve him well in the leader role of Director of Human Resources and Chief People Officer,” said Dr. Brad Lindsay, MCS Superintendent. “Robert has a strong foundation in management, problem solving, systemic thinking and innovation. Mr. Bannister's diverse leader experiences will be valuable, as we continue to strive for best possible for Marion Community Schools students and families. He understands the people and community of Marion and brings experiences from Chicago and Cincinnati that will provide us a different perspective in how to make better continuously happen for people in the City of Marion and Grant County.”
