MHS plans virtual graduation ceremony for Class of 2020

Publish Date: 04/13/2020

Marion High School is in the process of planning a virtual graduation for next month.

MHS asked members of the Class of 2020 to weigh in on options for their graduation, since the traditional ceremony has been canceled due to COVID-19 distancing guidelines. About half the class indicated a preference, and the majority of those votes were for a virtual graduation in May and a second in-person ceremony in September.

We will premier the virtual commencement ceremony at 2:30 p.m. May 31 on our website and social media pages.

It will include messages from administrators; class valedictorian, salutatorian, president; and videos of every student who chooses to participate. (SENIORS: Click here for information on how to participate!)

The more traditional in-person ceremony is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 20, dependent on the advice of health officials at that time.

MHS Senior Spotlight

Marion High School will also premier another video, MHS Senior Spotlight, at 7 p.m. May 31 on our website and social media pages.

This will feature senior singers, pictures provided by the Class of 2020, and more. (For updates and reminders, RSVP to the Facebook event page.)
