IU offers FREE online summer program on sustainability & the environment

Publish Date: 06/08/2020

Attention MHS students: Are you interested in environmental science and sustainability? Are you looking for a fun way to engage in education this summer? Indiana University has a special opportunity for you! You MUST apply by June 15 to be considered for this free program.

Typically IU offers this summer program to high schoolers focused on the field of environment and sustainability as a 4-day, 3-night summer camp. This summer, though, IU has adapted the program has to offer an online version! Summer Experience in Sustainability & the Environment will be a four-week interactive program. Participants will explore the environmental field through hands-on activities and learn about college and career opportunities at IU from current students, staff, and faculty.

The SESE program will run from June 22 through July 17. Participants should expect lots of interaction with fellow participants; an average of 1.5 hours of online time or participation in activities per weekday (Monday-Friday); and discussions (online and over video chat) with IU faculty and current students. As an online program, participants can also "set their own schedule" in order to meet most camp commitments.

If you are interested, you need to apply by 5 p.m. Monday, June 15. Acceptance/denial notifications will be sent out starting on June 16, along with required forms and information about signing up for those who are accepted into the program.
