Plans for an in-person graduation ceremony for the Marion High School Class of 2020 have been put on hold. Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb announced today that he was leaving the cap on gathering sizes at 250 through at least July 17. (It was to have lifted on July 3.)
Diploma printing was delayed due to COVID-19, but we now have them in hand!
Class of 2020 graduates may pick up their diplomas (along with their transcripts and other important information) at Marion High School from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, June 18.
Please enter the drive on Carey Street near 26th Street and follow the directions. You will proceed around the back of the building, where the distribution will take place.
Attention MHS students: Are you interested in environmental science and sustainability? Are you looking for a fun way to engage in education this summer? Indiana University has a special opportunity for you! You MUST apply by June 15 to be considered for this free program.
Knowledge Assessment Tests for dual credit courses
MHS offers dual credit courses in Spanish, social studies, math, and science through Ivy Tech Community College. To be eligible for these courses in the 2020-21 school year, you must pass corresponding knowledge assessments.
MHS Credit Recovery
Marion High School students who have classes they would like to retake due to low or failing grades during the school year can participate in credit recovery summer session, which will run Monday, June 8, through Thursday, June 25. If you have questions about which classes you need to retake, contact Mr. Reeves, email@example.com.
Marion High School has moved up its plans for an in-person graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 to July 12, 2020.
MHS administrators have been working with student officers of the Class of 2020 to make this decision. While the school had initially planned to have an in-person graduation ceremony during Homecoming Week in September 2020, many students who are heading to college have concerns that they will not be able to leave their college campus at that time. Many colleges are putting restrictions in place to help limit the spread of COVID-19.
The Marion High School Class of 2020 Virtual Graduation will premier at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 31. This will be a very special event for our students, families, staff, and community! We hope you will tune in together with us to celebrate the Class of 2020!
