Kate and Bryce Conway, who teach English and choir, respectively, here at Marion High School, have stepped into new roles in the community: theater stars!

The two play leading roles in Marion Civic Theater's production of the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie, an evening of madcap merriment.

The Marching Giants invite you to view their 2019 field show for free right here at Marion High School!

The 2019 show is “Spirits of the Past” — an ode to the storied history of the Marion Marching Giants, and the tradition of Marion Giant Pride that is as strong as ever today!

The free community performance is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Marion High School’s Dick Lootens Stadium. The Marching Giants would like to invite all Marion Community families, staff, and the entire community to come out and enjoy the show!

Tickets will be on sale starting Aug. 12 for the 2019 Marion High School Hall of Distinction Induction Banquet.

The banquet is set for 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at the Jones/Leedy/Bedford Banquet Room, Barnes Student Center, Indiana Wesleyan University, 4201 S. Washington St., Marion. (Inductees will also be a part of Marion Giants Homecoming Weekend.)

Tickets can be purchased for $40 at the Marion Community Schools District Office at Marion High School, 750 W. 26th St. (Door 22), from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can also purchase tickets online:

All members of the MHS Class of 2023 (incoming 9th-graders) and all other students new to Marion High School are invited to attend our 2019 Freshman & New Student Open House!

There will be building tours, a cookout, important information about clubs and other extra-curricular activities.

We hope to see you at 6 p.m. Aug. 5. Meet us in the MHS cafeteria to start off the event.

This year will be a historic season for the Marion High School Marching Giants, in more ways than one.

Not only is 2019 is the 50th anniversary of the 1969 State Fair Championship — a title that carries with it cherished memories and pride for alumni — but it is also the year the Marching Giants will return to State Fair Band Day for the first time in more than 15 years!

Nine Cadets from the JROTC program at Marion High School recently returned from a week of adventure at Camp Atterbury: the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC). 

Each cadet successfully completed a series of physical and leadership challenges designed to push them beyond what they thought they could do. At the end of the week-long training, five Marion cadets were selected by their cadre/instructors for recognition as a Top Cadets during the camp.

Marion Community School of the Arts (CSA) will be holding an informational meeting on the CSA Arts Academy, a partnership with Marion Community Schools, at 5:30 p.m. June 24 at CSA, 305 S. Adams St., Marion. This meeting is for anyone who would like more information on the program; it is not required of those already enrolled in the programming.
