The Marion High School JROTC Rifle Marksmanship Team demonstrated they are clearly the best Precision Division team within the five states comprising the U.S. Army Cadet Command’s 7th Brigade. Not only did the team win the 7th Brigade Marksmanship Championship, but the Giants also produced the first, second, fifth, and sixth best shooters.

Marion High School JROTC cadets Audrey Dickerson and Hailey Teeguarden both were awarded the U.S. Army’s ROTC scholarships. These national level scholarships are each valued at just under $100,000.

Some of best young musicians in the area will gather together for a special performance as the Grant County Public High School Honor Band this week.

The public is invited to come out and enjoy this special performance, set for 7 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in Indiana Wesleyan University’s Chapel Auditorium in Marion. Admission is free!

Two Marion High School art students earned recognition at regional art competition at the University of St. Francis recently.

The USF School of Creative Arts’ 43rd Annual High School Art Exhibition is on display through March 20. Almost 250 works of art from 30 high schools in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois entered.  A total of 16 awards and 8 scholarships given. Eli Lootens won one of the Talent Scholarships, and Sophia Porter received an award of 3rd place.

What do you get if you mix the twists and turns of a whodunit with the over-the-top stylings of a soap opera? You get the fun-filled murder mystery comedy “The Bold, the Young, and the Murdered” Marion High School Speech & Drama Association’s upcoming spring play.

The long-running soap opera “The Bold and the Young” is barely holding on to its life, and to make matters worse, cast and crew members are dropping dead one by one. Which will come first, the death of the show or the death of every cast member? You'll have to come to one of our performances to find out!

Under the leadership of choir director Bryce Conway, the Marion High School show choir’s have been traveling and competing around Indiana. The mixed choir, Innovations, and all female choir, the Marionettes, performed in two competitions during the month of February.

Innovations show choir traveled to perform in a competition held at Huntington North. Innovations won the 2nd place title in their division. They earned  9th place overall at the Huntington North competition.

Cadets from the Marion High School JROTC program have advanced to the second level of the Army JROTC Leadership Bowl and Academic Bowl competitions.

More than 2,400 teams representing JROTC programs from high schools across the country and around the world entered these contests. The Giants were one of only two JROTC programs from the state of Indiana to have teams advance in both disciplines.
