MARION (March 4, 2013) — As part of its annual Spring Open House, Tucker Career and Technology Center in Marion will host a College and Career Fair this week.

Visitors will be able to speak with representatives from dozens of colleges and several area businesses at the event, set for 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, and open to the public.

But there will be much more than just information available during the fair.

With the March 10 state aid deadline for filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid looming, there will also be another opportunity for students and families to get help filling out and filing this crucial form. Project Leadership will be helping at the FAFSA lab at Tucker during the fair hours.

Tucker criminal justice students will be offering fingerprinting services for the child identification kits that will be available to parents. Tucker nursing students will be offering health screenings including blood pressure tests.

Fair attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in fun activities listed in the Passport, distributed to Grant County students last summer. To go along with those activities, which will be housed throughout the building, visitors can build an “upside-down” ice cream sundae, getting various toppings as they go, then ending up with the ice cream on top of it all at the end of their tour.

And, of course, the event offers Grant County students considering attending classes at Tucker the chance to get a behind-the-scenes look at the facilities.
