A Marion High School student has been named a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist, a prestigious designation earned only by about 1 percent of the 1.5 million students who apply each year. Two others earned the designation of "Commended Students" — a designation earned by only about 2 percent of applicants.
The JROTC cadets from Marion High School will host a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on September 11, 2019, at the flagpole in front of Marion High School.
This ceremony, planned and executed by the cadets, is designed to remember and honor those victims of the terrorist attacks on that dreadful day. It will begin at 8 a.m. and is open to the public.
Marion Community Schools social workers invite you to a special night of family fun at Culver's in Marion!
Dine to donate! A portion of your purchase of Culver's food and ice cream will go to MCS social workers, to help assist students with various needs.
There will also be face painting!
This special event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2019. We hope to see YOU there!

Rock's Concessions will be serving all-you-can-eat tenderloin plus two sides and a drink from 5 to 8 p.m. at Marion High School before and during the Homecoming Game (which starts at 7).
The truck will be set up in the MHS football stadium parking lot by Door 14 of the arena. Cost: $8 for adults, $5 for kids.
Carryout is available.
Advance tickets are available through the MHS Choir Department.
Proceeds benefit the Marion High School Choir Program.
