On Nov. 19, educators from throughout the state of Indiana will be attending Red for Public Ed Action Day, a rally at the Indiana Statehouse. This rally is meant to communicate to our legislators the serious need for more financial and other support for public education and the children we serve. Public education has an important mission, which is to serve all the children of all the people. Our state is not adequately supporting this mission.

The Marion High School JROTC Raiders battled 17 other teams, the cold pouring rain, and five grueling competitive events last Saturday at Camp Atterbury to become the Indiana JROTC Raider State Runner-Up.

The competition, hosted by the Indiana Army National Guard, pitted the best Raider teams from across the state in a series of physically demanding events designed to test the strength, stamina, and teamwork abilities of the competing cadets. At the end of the competition, the Marion team missed the Championship title by just two seconds on the Cross Country Run event.
