Marion Community Schools was informed Wednesday, Dec. 16, that a student who was last at Frances Slocum Elementary School on Tuesday, Dec. 15, has been diagnosed as COVID-19 positive.

At the elementary level, with the difficulty of enforcing consistent social distancing, Marion Community Schools utilizes cohorting (keeping groups of students together and avoiding cross contact as much as possible). Because of this, our plans have included quarantining entire classrooms in the event of a positive COVID diagnosis.
