Marion Community Schools Board of School Trustees invites letters of interest from individuals to serve on the Marion Public Library Board of Trustees. The appointment is from Jan. 1, 2020, to Dec. 31, 2023.

Eight Marion High School band students have been selected to perform in the Indiana Bandmasters Association All-District Honor Band.

This is the third year in a row that eight MHS students have been selected for this honor.

The students, teachers, staff, and administrators of Marion High School cordially invite all current and former members of the U.S. Armed Services and their family members to a Veterans Day memorial ceremony on Nov. 11, 2019.

This event, co-sponsored by Marion High School and the JROTC Department, is being held to honor and acknowledge the dedication, sacrifice and commitment of veterans in their service to our nation.

The Marion High School JROTC Raiders battled 17 other teams, the cold pouring rain, and five grueling competitive events last Saturday at Camp Atterbury to become the Indiana JROTC Raider State Runner-Up.  

The competition, hosted by the Indiana Army National Guard, pitted the best Raider teams from across the state in a series of physically demanding events designed to test the strength, stamina, and teamwork abilities of the competing cadets. At the end of the competition, the Marion team missed the Championship title by just two seconds on the Cross Country Run event.

The Marching Giants will officially close out their 2019 season with a special community performance at halftime of the Indiana Wesleyan University football team’s last home game, set for Nov. 9.

The 2019 show is “Spirits of the Past” — an ode to the storied history of the Marion Marching Giants, and the tradition of Marion Giant Pride that is as strong as ever today!

The Marion Regional Career Center's Aviation Academy is featured on Inside INdiana Business this month!

Student Emma Jacobs and teacher Scott Simpson were interviewed in studio in Indianapolis, and a camera crew also came to Marion to capture scenes from classes.

The Marion High School JROTC (Hooah Parents Booster Club) will have a fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse from 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24.

During this time, 10 percent of proceeds will be donated to the Booster Club to support the JROTC. Present the flier posted here to your server when you go!

The proposed 2019-2021 master contract for Marion Community Schools teachers can be viewed here.

Public comment on this topic only will be accepted at the School Board meeting set for this purpose at 5 p.m. Oct. 17, 2019, in the District Board Room at Marion High School (enter Door 22).

This contract has already been ratified by the Marion Teacher Association. The School Board will vote on it at their regular meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 29, 2019, in the District Board room.
