The MHS Hall of Distinction gives lasting recognition to alumni who have made exceptional contributions to the achievements and prestige of Marion Community Schools. It also serves to help inspire current students to aspire to similar success.

Prior to the extreme storm and tornadoes that whipped through Grant County and shut down two Marion Community schools for several days, data backup and preservation was listed among the items in the capital funds project. After the Nov. 17 storms, that item became a priority.

Marion Community Schools takes all reports of threats seriously. Safety of our students is top priority.

On Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, an allegation was made that a student had brought a gun to school with him the previous day. An investigation was begun immediately after the alleged threat was reported, and MCS administrators involved law enforcement when we determined that was appropriate.
