Marion High School will be offering athletic physicals free to any Marion Community Schools student later this month.

Physicals will start on a first-come, first-served basis at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at Bill Green Arena (enter Door 16 on the west side of the arena).

Any incoming 4th- through 11th-grader who plans to participate in school sports in the 2018-19 year needs to make plans for a physical, as they must have physical forms on file with the school before the sports season begins.

Marion Community Schools’ onsite registration is next week. All new students (K-12) and their families wanting to enroll should plan to attend. In addition, any returning student/family who needs computer access or other assistance should attend during these times as well.

The meeting of the Marion Community Schools Board of School Trustees set for July 10 has been cancelled. 

The next regularly scheduled meeting is July 24.

Marion Community Schools is a Summer Food Service Program participant. Free breakfast and lunch is available to the public (to anyone 18 or younger) as follows this summer:

Meals will be available Monday through Thursday, June 4 through June 28 at Frances Slocum Elementary School, Justice Intermediate School, and McCulloch Junior High School; meals will be available Monday through Thursday June 4 through June 21 at Marion High School.

Marion Community Schools’ assistant superintendent recently was honored by the Indiana Association of School Business Officials, for the second time in three years.


Dr. Robert Schultz, assistant superintendent for business affairs at MCS, was named the IASBO School Business Official of the Year for Region 5, the district in which Grant County lies.

Marion Community Schools is terribly saddened to hear of the tragic crash that claimed the life of a member of Marion High School's Class of 2018.

We wish to express sincere condolences to the family of Payton Rogers, a senior at Marion High School, and our thoughts are with the family of Baleeve Gregory, also a senior, as we fervently hope for her recovery from the injuries she suffered in the crash.

Dozens of Marion Community Schools students will be participating in Unified Game Day this Thursday, May 10. Hundreds of students from around Grant County will be participating in the event, a partnership between the Grant County Special Education Co-Op, of which MCS is a part, and Special Olympics Indiana.

Marion Community Schools' All-City Art Show is coming to Marion High School's Walton Performing Arts Center once again!

All MCS buildings will be showing student artwork, and MCS choral and band programs will provide music from all ages. Come see outstanding artwork created by our own Marion Giants. You can also join in some hands-on activities!
