Little Giants Preschool offers Incarcerated Parents Progam

Publish Date: 08/24/2022

Did you know that at Little Giants Preschool we have an Incarcerated Parents Program?

This program consists of a staff member (or intern) meeting with your child one-on-one in a private session once a week, where we can read children's books about incarceration and how it affects kids, let your child talk about their incarcerated parent, and provide an opportunity for your child to dictate or write letters and draw pictures to their incarcerated parent. All contact will be conducted in writing through the school. We send everything from school, and the incarcerated parent has an opportunity write your child in return. Any such return communication will be sent home.

Research shows that keeping the incarcerated parent in the loop with what is going on at school is good for both the incarcerated parent and the child. This program is totally voluntary and personal information will never be shared without your consent. Send us a private message or let your teacher know if you are interested in your child participating, and we will get you a permission slip to sign.
