Marion Unified Sports is selling peeler cards with discount coupons for area restaurants. The cards are $10 each, but have more than $200 savings!

MCS holiday card contest 2019

Marion Community Schools is seeking artwork for its annual holiday cards. This competition is open to all Marion Community Schools students (including Marion Regional Career Center). Winning artists receive a $75 Walmart gift card!

There will be a free dental and vision clinic at McCulloch Junior High School, 3528 S. Washington St., on Sunday, Oct. 6, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (This is sponsored by an outside source, but we are providing the location for them to hold the event.) It is a walk-in clinic provided by licensed professionals for anyone wanting a free vision exam or dental care. They will also have glasses available for $10 pair if you choose from their frames. No ID or insurance verification is required.

Riverview has many activities for students to get involved in  after school. Riverview provides something for everyone! Currently students are participating in Robotics, Student Council, and the Riverview Review. 

Robotics has two teams this year. Robotics provides students with an opportunity to participate in STEM activities. The Robotics team will be attending local competitions throughout the school year.

Ms. Russell said, "We are engaging our students with fun STEM activities with robots."

Riverview Elementary and our Parent Allies for Student Success (PASS) group invite all Riverview parents/guardians to have lunch with your student!

Visitors will need to bring their own lunch. (You will NOT be able to purchase school lunch.) You can bring lunch for both you and your student if you wish, but please do not bring soda pop for your student.

PASS will be providing a dessert treat for students and their visitors.

  • Family Night: Tuesday, Oct. 8. Families can eat dinner from 5 to 5:30 p.m., and then dress up and visit classrooms from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., collect candy, and participate in some activities! (A paper that was sent home incorrectly stated Family Night was 10/9. It is on 10/8!)
  • Fall pictures are on Wednesday, Oct. 9!
  • Skating Party is Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Idle Wyld.

Marion High School’s state-of-the-art planetarium will put on a special show that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first human steps on the moon, which happened in the summer of 1969. Come learn about the history of humans and space travel — and the milestone that astronaut Neil Armstrong called “one giant leap for mankind”.

The public is invited to MHS for “To Go to the Moon and Back Safely”. The show will last approximately one hour. Showings will be as follows:

Calling all area families: YOU are invited to the annual Fall Fest hosted by Early Head Start of Carey Services and Little Giants Preschool - Head Start!

Join us for this fun festival that focuses on health and safety. The event will last from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019, at the Grant County Family YMCA, 123 Sutter Way, Marion. It is open to all families in Grant and Blackford counties with children ages 0 to 12, and it is FREE!

The Marching Giants invite you to view their 2019 field show for free right here at Marion High School!

The 2019 show is “Spirits of the Past” — an ode to the storied history of the Marion Marching Giants, and the tradition of Marion Giant Pride that is as strong as ever today!

The free community performance is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Marion High School’s Dick Lootens Stadium. The Marching Giants would like to invite all Marion Community families, staff, and the entire community to come out and enjoy the show!

Marion Community Schools social workers invite you to a special night of family fun at Culver's in Marion!

Dine to donate! A portion of your purchase of Culver's food and ice cream will go to MCS social workers, to help assist students with various needs.

There will also be face painting!
