A Marion Community Schools elementary robotics team is headed to the VEX IQ State Championship, the first Marion squad to do so at our elementary school level! In addition, three teams from Justice Intermediate School are headed to state finals. All teams will compete this weekend in Indianapolis.
Frances Slocum Elementary’s E Team earned their state finals berth by claiming the Teamwork Champion Award during the Wabash League Finals on Feb. 3.
Marion High School Drama is bringing the modern classic Once Upon a Mattress to the main stage at the Walton Performing Arts Center this spring.
Marion Community Schools invites families of children who will be starting kindergarten next school year to attend our Kindergarten Roundup, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13. Please bring your kindergartner-to-be with you!
Families can begin their application for Little Giants Preschool for the 2023-24 school now.
Little Giants Preschool encompasses Marion Community Schools' Head Start, Title 1, On My Way Pre-K, and Special Services-funded programs. There are several factors considered when determining which program a student will be enrolled in, but there will be a common start to the application process for all applicants for the 2023-24 school year. Students must be 3 years old by Aug. 1, 2023, and must live in Grant County.
Frances Slocum Elementary invites all caregivers for our 2nd- through 4th-graders to a special informational meeting just for them, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16. (This had been previously scheduled for 2/9, but was rescheduled to 2/16.) Dinner will be provided!
