All Frances Slocum Elementary students and their families are invited to come out to our Open House to kick off another great school year!

Come explore the school, meet the staff, and get information about the upcoming year. The Open House is set from 5 to 6:30 Monday, Aug. 10.

Patricia I don't know the details of the pow wow for sure but it was game night where students were taught how to play 3 different games that all cost under $5 total to create and play at home!
We had a record attendance.  Anne can give you the details- how many people, was Fazolis donated or did we buy it (for a shout out to them), etc.

April 22nd the students of Frances Slocum who had less than 4 tardies, no missing assignments, and no referrals got a visit from "Karate Jarod" College Pastor at College Wesleyan Church.  He taught our hard workers various karate moves as our students enjoyed a break from class to celebrate their great behavior, great work ethic, and great attendance.  We are proud of all of our BRAVE students!

Frances Slocum students who have been on their best behavior have an awesome opportunity coming up:

Jarod Osborne will be back to conduct a karate class for the next Slocum Celebration, and students who have had ZERO behavior referrals, NO missing assignments, and fewer than four tardies between March 10 and April 21 will be able to take part!

Frances Slocum Elementary students, staff, and families will take the stage for a special talent show later this week.

The Talent in the City event, which will support the France Slocum Sounds of Hope choir and their Dream Tour to New York City, is set from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at College Wesleyan Church, 200 E. 38th St. 

The Sounds of Hope choir was an outgrowth of the Kids Hope USA partnership between College Wesleyan Church and Frances Slocum Elementary School.

During our recent Slocum Celebration, our students who have been on their best behavior got to cut loose and DANCE!

We are so grateful to Faith In Motion dance school for coming and showing our students some Zumba moves. It was a great day!
