Tickets are on sale now for the Community School of the Arts upcoming production of Little Women. Written by Kate Hamill, and adapted from the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott, Little Women is being directed by Rachel Corral and presented by CSA’s Theatre compANY, and is the first of the 2020-2021 Performance Series.
In this beloved tale, Jo March isn’t your typical Victorian lady. She’s indecorous and headstrong, and one day she’s going to be a great American novelist. As she and her sisters grow up in the middle of the Civil War, they strive to be brave, intelligent, and imaginative young women. But as adulthood approaches, each sister must negotiate her private ambitions with society’s expectations. In a war-torn world defined by gender, class, and personal tragedy, Jo March gives us her greatest story: that of the March sisters, four dreamers destined to be imperfect little women.
CSA has taken measures to ensure that audience members can attend and the cast can take the stage amidst COVID-19, with limited seating due to the social distancing of tickets, masks required for audience members, and altered entrances and exits.
“CSA is once again excited to bring live theatre to the stage in Grant County, and feels lucky to have access to such a large venue that allows for social distancing for audience members. While theater remains shut down in many areas of the country, CSA selected this show featuring a smaller cast, and is eager to tell this classic story, and provide an opportunity for live theater entertainment in Grant County,” CSA Executive Director Katie Morgan Perez said.
Little Women will take the stage at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 and 7 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 8 at the F. Ritchie Walton Performing Arts Center at Marion High School, 750 W. 26th St. Adult tickets are $18 and student tickets are $12 and are available at csa-marion.com/tickets or at the Community School of the Arts, 305 S. Adams St., downtown Marion, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
