MARION (April 12, 2013) — A Marion Community Schools bus was involved in an accident Thursday evening, but no one was injured.

There were two students on bus No. 86 when the two-vehicle accident occurred just before 5 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013. The bus, which was taking the students home after an after-school tutoring session at Allen Elementary School, was eastbound on West 42nd Street and was struck by a southbound vehicle as the bus pulled away from a stop sign at the intersection with Carey Street.

No one was injured in the crash, and Transportation Coordinator Don Batchelor said the bus suffered minimal damage, with the bumper being pushed out of shape. Transportation mechanics were able to make the repair and the bus was back in service Friday. Batchelor said the second vehicle also sustained minor damage.
