IMPACT Program

The IMPACT Program, a partnership between Grant County Special Education Cooperative and Indiana Wesleyan University, was created to give students with disabilities (ages 18-22) the opportunity to explore the world and life beyond the walls of their local high school.

With the help of IWU student mentors, IMPACT students learn to be more independent, increase their social circle, and learn how to live an abundant life. IMPACT students learn life skills, experience the college atmosphere, and can work as volunteers in various capacities on the IWU campus. All of these opportunities lead to more independence!

IWU student mentors commit for one semester and agree to meet with their IMPACT student for at least one scheduled hour each week. Interested IWU students can obtain applications in the IWU Teachers Education Office in Goodman Hall

IMPACT students are selected through the case conference committee during a student’s annual conference.
