National Art Honor Society lends talents to community fundraiser

The Marion High School National Art Honor Society has found a beautiful way to help our community! Members of the school organization have painted a rain barrel to be raffled off in support of Marion Utilities’ H2O Community program, which provides assistance to those struggling to pay for their city water service.

MHS NAHS joins several other community organizations in this effort. The rain barrels will be up for auction at the Marion Parks Department’s Earth Day festivities set for 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 22, at Matter Park. In addition to the rain barrel raffle, there will be free activities for kids, exhibits and vendors, a tree giveaway, food vendors, and more.

We love to shine the spotlight on the community service and outreach activities of our clubs! Such learning opportunities are an essential part of high school life that helps students build for their own bright future.
