MHS junior selected for All-State Honor Choir

A Marion High School junior has been selected to perform in a prestigious all-state honor ensemble at the Indiana Music Educators Association’s upcoming annual conference.

Clara Davies was selected to participate in the Indiana Choral Directors Association’s All-State Honor Choir.

This ensemble is a great opportunity and gives students a chance to learn and grow as musicians. To earn a spot with the All-State Honor Choir, students participate in a challenging audition process, in itself a great learning experience.

The All-State Honor Choir will perform under the direction of guest conductor Dr. Pearl Shangkuan, chorus director of the Grand Rapids Symphony, a Grammy-nominated professional orchestra, and Vice President of the American Choral Directors Association, during the IMEA’s annual conference, set for Jan. 15-17 in Fort Wayne.

Marion’s representation during this music-filled weekend is a testament to the hard work and dedication our students display every day in the classroom, and to the excellence, skill, and professionalism that our music educators bring to their work all year round.
