MCS welcomes Evans as district HR Director

Marion Community Schools is pleased to welcome April Evans as its Human Resources Director.

With 20 years in the field, and more than 10 years working within educational institutions, Evans is an experienced HR administrator with expertise in recruitment and retention, training and development, employee relations, and strategic planning. She is committed to creating an environment of safety, respect, and belonging for employees at Marion Community Schools. 

MCS Superintendent Stephanie Lockwood said she looks forward to Evans’ leadership in the Human Resources Department.

“We’re excited to welcome April back home to Marion Community Schools,” Lockwood said. “She brings not only proven HR expertise, but also a genuine commitment to the people and families of Marion. April’s leadership will enhance our hiring, support our staff, and further the positive, student-centered culture we are building together. She is an asset to both our district team and school community.”

Evans is a Marion High School graduate, and she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northwood University in Michigan, and her master’s degree in management from Indiana Wesleyan University.
